Installing Free mcboot with hdadvance2.0 and swap tool

Post by d123456 »

setup: ps2, hd, hdadvance 2.0 and a swap tool. I do not have a mod chip
I´m trying to run freemcboot installer so that I can install it to my memory card.
This is what I tried: http://bootleg.sksapps.com/tutorials/fmcb/hdloader.php
I burned it on cd and put it with hd advance 2.0 on my ps2 hd.
1. The problem is that I can convert a cd with ulauchelf 4.38 and 4.0 so that it is listed in my games list. But when I try to run it, black screen of death. I tried to enable mode 3, but even with mode 3: bsod.
2. I tried to convert a free mcboot 1.8 boot cd, but hdadvance 2.0 states it is not a valid playstation disc (which is true I guess  )
How can I run something other than games through hdadvance2.0
Is there someone who had similar problems? any advise? suggestions?
any help would be appreciated.

I just downloaded something called [Co2KY][PS2]Mutil_DVD_NO2_DPlayer, does not install correct (errors....)
I ended up rebooting the ps2 with the on/off switch. this collection of app was not even correctly installed. Much by my surprise I saw the compilation in my games list. clicked it and it worked. Launched ulauch elf whoch was among the titles in this compilation and then surfed to my usb stick. Now installing fmcb.
Very happy right now! Joy.

Glad to hear that you got it going. I couldn't offer any advice before because I already had FreeMcBoot that someone gave me.

Yeah, I have HDAdvance 3.0 and used that method to install FreeMC boot. The ISO I downloaded, specifically for HDAdvance, didn't work. Black screen, even with mode 3. I ended up using a different method to compile the ISO, then got that to boot in HDAdvance.
