I have my eye on the Mayflash Fighting Stick to play shmups on my PSone.
Now, this stick is only advertised for PS2 but I was wondering if anyone knows it works with the PS1? I know PS2 controllers work with the PS1 but you can't always tell with 3rd party stuff... especially cheapo ones like these.
(And before anybody comes in and says there are better arcade sticks out there, I don't really want to shell out much cash and as a so-so stick this one seems to be all right for the price.)

Re: Mayflash Fighting Stick and PS1
I am going to go out on a limb and say no. Right in the first sentance it says "usb" if it's only a usb plug sorry it will not work with ps1 as ps1 has no usb ports.
This is most likely your best bet and pretty cheap for a Hori stick.

I couldn't find that. The link shows a separate universal fighting stick with the USB.darth_blunted wrote:I am going to go out on a limb and say no. Right in the first sentance it says "usb" if it's only a usb plug sorry it will not work with ps1 as ps1 has no usb ports.

If it has a PS2 type of connector, a very good chance the stick will work with a PS1. Especially since it is an all digital stick. Won't work on analog stick dependent games though.

Thanks for the link for the Hori stick. Unfortunately the seller doesn't ship to Malaysia and even then the shipping cost would probably be prohibitive.

Yeah I was confused about that as well! Thought I had given a different link. This isn't the USB model as far as I know. It uses a standard PS2 controller port.

Checking the official Mayflash website for this particular controller, it apparently has a switch to toggle between the digital d-pad and the left analog stick for the arcade stick which I found to be interesting. I saw reviews online for an older version of this stick and that version lacked this feature.
Anyways, since CRT says there's a good chance, maybe I'll give it a gamble.

Especially for PS1 games where some use analog and some don't! Kinda why I'm attracted to this particular stick actually

Wait a minute, the site says for PS2 games under a PS3. Does it have a USB or PS2 connector? The switch to left analog stick is a handy feature, I wonder if that might affect true digital for PS1 games?

Re: Mayflash Fighting Stick and PS1
I'm not sure.
I think they were lazy and forgot to switch the PS3 text to PS2 in the image... because they actually differentiate between the PS2 and PS3 models of this arcade stick on the site.

Going off the link you provided to us here on the site under features it says "usb"
I would bet it is only usb.
That's funny I clicked your link again to read the features and now I don't see the "pc usb" part wtf???

That would suck, if true.
However, I really don't see USB listed anywhere under features on any of the links I provided though
