PlayStation chief: Nintendo makes 'babysitting tools"

Sony PlayStation CEO Jack Tretton has stuck the knife into Nintendo's approach handheld gaming today, stating that it is nothing more than a way for parents to grab free time for their kids, and that no adult would ever want to be seen with one of Nintendo's devices:

"Our view of the 'Game Boy experience' is that it's a great babysitting tool, something young kids do on airplanes, but no self-respecting twenty-something is going to be sitting on an airplane with one of those," Tretton told CNN. "He's too old for that."

Can't wait to see how the fanboys rage.

I am not a fanboi by any means, I like all my consoles and the different range of games they offer, however when someone says stupid shit like this it reminds me of little teens at football games who just through every insult under the book because there team is losing.

Sometimes you just have to sit back, pop some popcorn, and enjoy the show. Sony certainly provides enough entertainment.

um, didn't they say the same when the PSP launched? I remember them saying "The DS will just sell to the same people, the Pokemon crowd. While the PSP will bring new gamers into handheld gaming"
