My first review so please give me a break.
House the Dead Overkill (abbreviated HotD) proves that the Wii can get Mature games. This 17+ game tries as hard as it can to shock you and surprise you with B-movie cliches. A Wii exclusive in the arcade rail shooter series, this game should keep fans satisfied till House of the Dead 4 is ported to home consoles(anytime now sega how about the next time you feel like porting Crazy Taxi you should port HotD4 instead). If you like non stop mutant (don't use the Z word) killing, coupled with over the top offensive humor this game is for you.
House of the Dead Overkill is best enjoyed with a gun attachment for your wii mote. The UK saw the release of light gun attachment the AMS Hand Cannon. So unless you want to import your options are limited. I'd recommend getting two hand gun style. Unlocking dual wield allows you to use two both wii guns to decimate the hordes of undead mutants.
Beating the games unlocks the Director's cut. With longer levels and more baddies to shoot, the Director's cut breaths new life in the undead killing spree. The B-movie aesthetic draw heavily from grind house theater. The extended game doesn't stop the cheesy one liners or the Ed Wood "mistakes" in the background. The friendly insults and puns between Agent G and Detective Isaac Washington is like watching a bad exploitation film in the best kind of way. With numerous guns to unlock and upgrade, the game continues on well after beating the game. All cut scenes are skippable if the story starts to bore or disturb you.
The game scores you on accuracy as well as how many kills you can get in a row. If you kill 25 mutants in row without missing, you go goregasm. You can additional points for each kill while an American flag flies saluting your grandiose killing spree.
Playing this game is a blast at parties. Nothing puts people in the mood like watching skulls explode. The outrageous and gross humor is even funnier with a friend (or keep it in the family) in Co Op mode. Kick back and enjoy this loud mouth bullet fest. I give this game 4 out of 5 zombie skulls.

Re: House of the Dead Overkill Review HotD
Nice review. You forgot to mention the greatest feature of the Wii version. It is an out of the box support for light guns for LCDs and HDs. I really can't get into motion controls, but love the resurgence of Light Gun Game Support in the new Motion and Sensor controls. Alas my poor Dreamcast lost the guns when I went to HD CRT. As an interim I can go light guns on the VGA CRT monitor.
Maybe throw in some pics and separate your paragraphs for an easier read.

My favorite Light Gun game.

One of the funniest games to watch and play, too bad the score tracking and credits don't work together - your credits in regular mode do not get transfer to director's cut, but your high score is shared, making it difficult to earn credits in director's cut if you played too much on regular mode.
