SNES4ALL Emulator for DC finaly released! 30fps emulation!

Post by Anthony817 »

Wow, Chui is just pumping out the updates for his emulators and giving them all SD card support, and this is the one I was really looking forward to! This is actualy the first version of this emulator ever released, and this is a very big breakthrough, as SNES emulation was never 100% on Dreamcast with the other emulator.

Hardware scaled resolution.
Assembler CPUs core enabled.
Autoframeskip for real speed.
Save state and SRAM.
VMU and SD-Card support.
Operative Menu: Throttle, Frameskip, Transparency, Sound ...
Filemanager with subdirectories access.
4 joysticks emulated.
Under PAL dreamcasts ask 60-50Hz selection..

You can download it here!

Wow, this is fantastic news, thanks for the heads-up!! I'd been checking periodically for new SNES emulators on the Dreamcast, 'cause DreamSNES 0.98 just was not satisfactory. I think "100% emulation" may be a bit of a misnomer though, 'cause unless I'm misunderstanding, you have to turn off transparancies to get full-speed in some games. Still, seeing Super Mario World, Street Fighter II, and Donkey Kong Country run like that is amazing to see! I wish SNES emulation had been up to those standards back when I was turning everyone on to the Dreamcast... that level of emulation alongside the Dreamcast's library is a total game-changer when it comes to converting the naysayers.

...any word on a Mega Drive emulator that doesn't mangle the audio?

Ok, lol, I got ahead of myself. Chui said it is more on the order of 30fps, and somebody said an SNES displays games at 60fps, but 30fps is what PS1 games run at, and that is fast enough for the human eye I guess. ;)

Anyway, I am having trouble getting this to work under Dreamshell, and the bin has been unscrambled and everything, and nobody can give me a straight answer lol.

Just watched it with sound, which was a minor disappointment. Still, very impressive work, and it's great to know that Chui's still going strong working on Dreamcast projects.

Will the racketboy store carry the sd adapters eventually? I don't want to mod my dc.
Thanks everyone...

From what I can remember Genesis plus was the best emulator for the system, but I got Tuxthewise's version with all American roms on it, and from what I played it was great.

I did however hear from another Spanish friend that there will be an new Genesis/Megadrive emulator coming out with SD card support and speed improvements too, so as soon as I here anything about that, I'll post it here also asap.

If you guys are into the Amiga and emulating that, UAE4ALL was also updated with speed improvements and SD card support.

You don't have to mod your DC, you can read my review and buy them with a paypal account by following my tutorial and review here.

It only cost me $11.14 USD total shipping and all!
