Need advice on getting replacement 360

Post by purpleoptic »

After finally getting around to treating myself to an arcade stick yesterday I got it set up how I like it and boom my 360 just crashed it had artifacts on the screen, I restarted it and tried it again and it did the same in the dashboard. Strange thinks I so I check the 360 to make sure the vents etc weren’t blocked. switched it on and it's now got three red lights. :x

I'm more annoyed I didnt get to use my stick much I've had the 360 for three years so I'm not too fussed. What I'd like advice on is should I either get a used "fat" 360 or suck it up and go for one of the newer slim models?

Would really appreciate advice here peeps I haven’t been able to get my daily fix of SSF IV or SF3

Don't even risk it, get a slim if you're going to buy a replacement.

I'd check to see if you can get a free replacement first. 3 Year warrenty for RRoD is from the day it was brought in. EG my xbox was 4 years old, but they told me that the warranty had ran out a month previous to when I called up complaining about my RRoD. So it might still be in warranty. Can't hurt to call up and find out.

It's actually not impossible to fix the 3rrods. It's a $6 gamble that I think is worth taking. Look it up.

Even if you don't want to try fixing it yourself, you should check local classified ads to see if there is anyone in your area that fixes 360. There is a dude in my area that fixes them and is really professional and even offers a one month warranty. It's worth a try.
