$500 good price for D&D Tower of Doom cabinet?

Post by Gamerforlife »

A comic shop near me has an actual arcade cab for it. The owner says it's in good condition and I know him well enough that I don't think he'd lie about that. It's tempting, I shouldn't blow 500 dollars on anything really, but I could

Wish it was Shadow over Mystara though

That seems like a pretty fair price to me.

yea that is a lil pricy, but normal arcades are usually in that range if not higher.
But if you got money to blow y not.

When i was young and my parents took me to the arcade, they had a Virtua Fighter 2 arcade for like 1000 and i begged my rents for it. BUt of course we all know the answer to that lol.

He had an X-Men Children of the Atom cabinet at one time in the store too. I asked him today who he sold that to and he said no one. He actually gave it to his daughter, which I thought was pretty cool

Gotta hook these kids in retro game early guys

agree kids now adays are spoiled with Nex Gen graphics, and seems like they are fall into the FPS halo, call duty crowd.
I rather have them learn gaming from retro games side scroller and move up. Then they would appreciate games alot more.

That is pricey, unless the cabinet is perfect. Before you buy, check and see if the game board (also known as a "B" board) is blue. If so, you should have a USA "A" board which you can plug other CPS2 USA games into. Essentially, its a big console!

http://cps2shock.retrogames.com/techinfo.html

Also to note, the "B" boards have suicide batteries in them, meaning if they're not replaced the game will be dead, never to be used again unless you "phoenix" it from the above cps2shock site.

Good luck!

Depends how much you love the game. I bought my first cab Final Fight for $100, but now it just sits there collecting dust. You can only save Metro city so many times, so if you invest in that thing, you better really love that game. Still $500 sounds a bit pricey. My next and only other cab I got was a 4 slot MVS, so I can play different games in my cab without it growing old or stale, and that cost me $250, so there are deals out there to be had, but this does not sound like one.

Like fedexin said, check the boards, if they matchup right buy it. Its only a couple hundred to get Mystara, and you can buy that after Tower of Doom has run dry.

Get it if in good condition. And the cab should be a real capcom cab.
Not some ol´cab they use shoved a capcom in and put some stickers on.

You can probably get a good price for the board if you get .. "board" .... with it and then you can put something else in there. 199 for 14 unemulated cps games........not bad!
