Golden Axe and Sonic on XBLA

Post by nightwalker »

Well does anyone else tried them?

I'm not good at reviewing a game but Ive found golden axe looking pretty nice and the gameplay its still the same and solid. Ive only tried the trial but I wouldn't buy the full version because its the same as the genesis version. Well not the same exactly with better sound and video but you fell like the same as playing it in your genny. And sonic well this is gonna be a bit hard because sonic looks great in hd!!!!!. Blazing thru the green hill zone never seen so great the gameplay its the same. Well I'm contradicting (if that is spelled correctly) myself when I say if your a sonic fan you should definitely download this one. Why I don't get golden axe in full, well you play sonic and you don't get bored of it and golden axe its kinda play it with lots of ppl. I didn't tried the multiplayer on golden axe that could be real cool if there isn't any lag in it. But hey if anyone of you tried it what do you think. With the Nights trailer and what Ive seen so far sega is beginning to look like its old self.

I viewed a video review on youtube and it looks like it's a direct port of the Arcade game and not the Genesis version, thus the better graphics and sound. The Arcade version really did trounce the Genesis port, even though the Genesis port was fun.

Maybe I didn't play around with the Sonic game enough, but it didn't look HD to me. Unlike other games which have been receiving refinements, Sonic appears to have received none. Thats not a bad thing, per se, but I really don't like seeing the hugely pixelated Sonic on my HDTV. I'd rather play Sonic on a standard CRT of yore, for that natural retina burning anti-aliasiging :)

Y'know, traditional CRT SDTVs are damn fine at masking image quality problems. I know when I get an HDTV it's going to be of the CRT variety, in part because of that.
