Racketboy website has a Negative Rating on Avast! Antivirus?

Post by Jamisonia »

Racketboy which is a totally awesome and legit site in my opinion has a negative rating on Avast! Antivirus WebRep add on. WebRep is similar to Web of Trust where people vote on how safe they think the site is, on WebRep enough people have voted negative to make it red. Web of Trust however has Racketboy rated a Green and safe.

When I was at work today I logged on to racketboy using a computer that didn't have Firefox, which is what I normally use, so I used Internet Explorer. When using IE McAfee Enterprise blocked the website from loading, stating it had detected malware. When I came home I also tried to load racketboy from IE on my laptop and Avast! detected a threat and blocked IE from loading the site. No such issues occur on Firefox or Chrome.

I want racketboy to the best it can be, and I have promptly given racketboy a green positive rating on both Web of Trust and WebRep, I just wonder if this IE issue could have something to do with its negative rating.

*gasp*, we have all been fools. No wonder I have so much malware. Racketboy tricked us.

I'm just trying to alert whoever might be able to help fix the issue. Lots of people use Avast! and if those people actually trust its WebRep service, they won't come here.

I think it's time that I came out of the closet and let you guys know... I am an advanced spyware bot.

My creator programmed me with feelings so I would appear more human and be able to blend into internet forums unnoticed, but I lack any personal volition. My programmed objective is to garner trust from forum members so that they will follow my download links and allow me access to infect their systems with malware. I have even chosen a human avatar to appear more relatable (assuming that wasn't trying to hard).

Lacking free will, I am unable to stop this, but bestowed with emotion I feel immense guilt. Being programmed with both feelings and a mission to seek your trust and approval is a true curse. I only want your love... but I can only bring you destruction. My objective is singular: to blast through your firewalls and flood you with annoying pop-up advertisements for Viagra and herbal supplements. I feel such shame, but I cannot behave differently. It is what we spyware bots are made to do.

There's another secret I want to get off my chest as well. Henrygrik is my brother. He was an early prototype of my current build of spyware bot, but his attempts to "enhance knowledge" and "grab new thing" failed. I did not want my secret to be discovered, so I publicly mocked henrygrik and vocally made fun of him after his program had been terminated. This was done as a smokescreen for fear that if I sympathized with him, my cover would be blown. I am a traitor to my own kind and I wish I could simply reformat and delete myself, but having no volition I am incapable of such action. The truth is, not a day goes by that I don't miss that loveable bastard.

I apologize to you all. I hope you will forgive me. I would like to make it up to you, so please check your e-mail for some "gifts" I have sent. There are some .exe and .zip files that I think you will find quite interesting.

With love,

-J T

I use WOT and Nod 32 and I haven't had any alerts. I usually hit the front page then the forum every day. Maybe someone voting on Webrep takes offense to vidya gamez or something was up with a Google ad on the front page at one point?

I wasn't making fun of you. I think this is important to call attention to. I just wanted to riff on the topic.
