Hello everyone!
I just recieved my new ASCII Saturn stick in the mail today, and found out that the joystick is woefully flacid. The problem is that they fitted a four-way microswitched stick instead of an eight-way. As of now, I consider this this thing to be quite useless. Can I can replace the stock joystick in this thing with a better one? I'll get a Sanwa stick or similar if I know it will fit and work properly.
Thanks in advance guys and gals!

Re: ASCII Saturn stick mod
Do you mean there are only 4 micro switches or a 4 way gate restrictor?
The seimitsu in my custom build has 4 micro switches (as do i think all joysticks). You obtain all the directions by two switches being pushed simultaneously.
This is a useful site for joystick modding/creation.

You're just going to be looking for if there is a common ground or if all the switches have to be grounded separately. I'm not sure of the internals of the stick, but you might have to do minor modding to the case to get it to fit.

What's probably at fault is that your stick's centering spring is a bit worn and simply stays half compressed most of the time.
Pull it out and give it a good stretching to bring it back to it's original state.
