Join the forces of Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Killer 7

Post by J T »

... and you get Shadows of the Damned.

This games looks INSANE! It's made by Suda51 (Killer 7, No More Heroes), Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill), and Shinji Mikami (Resient Evil). This is like a survival horror/gaming weirdness Dream Team. The game looks off the wall.

Finally, been waiting to see something on this game... and it looks amazing! Just like Vanquish, this looks like everything Capcom could put out... except not, man they've slipped up so much to me ever since losing all these creators (Mikami, Kamiya, and Inafune). But enough of that, yeah this game looks hilariously good.

Only complaint I might have is that the main characters voice seems a little annoying.

Now THIS is a game I can get behind. Mikami and Suda51 are two of my favorite developers right now. I've been waiting for a trailer to show off the game properly, this is finally it. This could be competition for Red Seeds Profile.

I sadly have not played any Suda game, but damn I bet I'd love them. Gotta check them out sometime...

Mikami though, heck yeah he's the man.

I find it funny I went through the Elm Street movies last week, and this looks almost just like that kind of stuff, hilariously fun horror with a lot of charm not taking itself too seriously. Just like how awesome Vanquish was. Can't wait.

His games get filed in the "style over substance" category. By that I mean usually the gameplay isn't the strongest point, but his games are so incredibly bizzare and unique that you'll end up having a lot more fun with them than some of the more polished games being released.

I'd suggest killer7 and No More Heroes for sure. The No More Heroes games are hilarious, you can't go wrong with either one but I liked the second one more. As for killer7, just look at this insanity: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rhvLebx1iA

I have to say...

This looks really stupidly boring.

Yeah, when I first saw the trailer I thought "This could be for video games what Evil Dead and Army of Darkness were for movies."

This looks brilliant! Bet it's going to be an awesome game.

Speaking of Killer 7, I found a copy of it for the Gamecube in my local Gamestation last week for an absolute bargain price, so I had to pick it up. I had heard mixed responses to the game, but figured I would most likely enjoy it from what I had read. I thought wrong... I don't just enjoy it, I LOVE it. Honestly, it's probably one of my favourite Gamecube games. I know the gameplay is "controversial" but I think it works pretty well, but the style, story and downright weirdness/uniqueness is what makes it so great. The puzzles are a bit weird/frustrating at times though.
