Where can you import European games?

Post by kenshin-dono »

so for some gay reason the UK has been getting tons of Limited edition junk particularly from square.

what has me irked right now is Final Fantasy IV The Complete Collection. But it seems they also got a cool boxed LE set for Tactics ogre, FF dissidia, and will be getting one for the 3rd birthday.

that kinda pisses me off. Im not really sure why the UK is getting all this swag and US gamers are left screwed over. I think we've proven we love to blow money on these gaudy LE sets in the past. Anyway, i really want the LE FFIV, and the tactics ogre one. Id also like some of the other ones. Does anyone know where the hell you can import European games? Amazon.uk wont ship to the US, neither does Amazon.fr It seems Amazon.de lets me go to the final step but i cant read any of that crap >_< where can i buy European games?

Worst comes to worst i wanted to try getting tactics ogre from amazon.dk.. but i was wondering, would the game and packaging be in german? or is it dual language like some Canadian games?

Good. We've spent far to long paying too much for a lesser product, its about time more companies gave us some nice exclusive collectables that we can export at huge marlk ups.

as far as PSP goes, there is no region protection. You can import any PSP games for any PSP system. So yeah.

Agree, its frustrating Amazon.uk won't ship overseas. I had the same problem with a PAL only release of a PS2 game. I ended up getting help from another member who lives in that region, paid a little extra for the reshipping hassles. I have the PAL game and converted it to work my NTSC PS2 and HD CRT.

I wrote a PAL NTSC Conversion Guide, handy if you end up getting PS1 or PS2 PAL imports.

I had to go through ebay because amazon.uk wouldn't ship Last Window to America. I wish they'd change their policy.

thanks for that link, i glanced at a few sites in that cheapassgamer link.
http://www.game.co.uk
seems pretty decent. ANyone used them before?

EIther the hut or zavi seem decent as well:
http://www.thehut.com/games.dept?affil=BUYAT
http://www.zavvi.com/games.dept?affil=BUYAT

supposedly theyre the same company? not sure which to look at.

Heres the games im specifically looking for

3rd birthday twisted edition
Tactics ogre special edition (cant find special edition tag)
Final fantasy IV complete collection limited edition (cant find limited edition tag)
Dissidia 12 legacy edition
lord of arcania slayer edition

Im actually a bit confused about FFIV complete collection and Tactics ogre.. id ont see a 'special edition' tag for either of those on any sites. Is the regular release the 'special edidion' in the UK? I want to make sure i get the right thing. Hopefully someone can clear that up

one final site someone on another forum sugested was
http://www.shopto.net/
seems decent enough but is missing 3rd birthday

Oh looking at that thread on cheapgamer it seesm theres also a persona 3 limited edition! sweet i need that too

I know how it sucks to not be able to get something like this. It is not the end of the world but it is annoying.

If people really can not get an Euro item another way, depending on the item I may be available to receive and re-send to the States. I'm not in the U.K. though so I don't know if the postage costs will remain attractive considering there will be two postage costs to pay (to me, and from me to the States).

I'd prefer to do this only for established members that I feel I can trust as I don't want any drama (likewise, anyone who wants to try this will need to trust me to some extent).

Ivo.
