Buying from Yahoo Japan?
Buying from Yahoo Japan?
Has anyone ever done this? I'm sort of confused how I go about it, I know I need a deputy service, and I've check out a few. Could someone please explain the full process?
Re: Buying from Yahoo Japan?
I use Celga.com for my importing needs with yahoo japan.
Basically you find items you want (google translate is wonderful), supply them with the auction URL and your max bidding amount in yen. Upon submittal, you must provide them with a deposit for the item (around 50% of your bid). They will then place the bid for you with their username. Upon winning, you will get an invoice which includes the items cost, shipping, the 2 dollar banking fee, and ur middle man's fee. Upon paying this, you can keep items in there warehouse for around 3 months, so I buy a few things before I request shipping (since its quite expensive). You can choose EMS which is like Priority Air, or Surface mail (by boat, takes ~2 months).
They always package everything very well, and i've yet to have any problems.

and what happens to your deposit if you don't win?
Re: Buying from Yahoo Japan?
You can leave it on your account to put towards other bids/future shipping or request a refund.

Considering how 99% of the video games I buy are Japanese region, I should look into trying this out. Ebay has been good to me but I bet Yahoo Japan would be really cool to use.
Re: Buying from Yahoo Japan?
I've bought from Japan a number of times.
If it's on amazon.co.jp and doesn't ship internationally [most electronics and video games], I use tenso.com- no complaints; great service and very cheap
If it's on Yahoo Japan Auctions, I use fromjapan.co.jp- friendly people but I've yet to use the site since they did a major redesign last summer. They are well known and trustworthy, though.

Wow, I didn't know there was a service like this for Amazon Japan. Just the other day I really wanted to buy Shape Boxing 2 for the Wii because it was so cheap but they wouldn't ship to me.
I'm going to be using this tonight. Thanks so much.
*edit*
I signed up with Tenso and bought my Shape Boxing 2 from Amazon Japan. This is awesome.
