a friend of mine owed me money and offered me his psp 2001 and games that he had been trying to sell for awile.
it was on ofw 6.35 i believe. the problem is that my little brother wanted to mess with me and use it to remote start my ps3 when was watching tv and updated it to 6.37.
this was a few weeks ago and at the time i read that ofw 6.37 was not downgradable nor did any cfws exist.
i just got done googling and came up with a few pointless youtube vids that said cfw 6.37 obviously typos and links that had 404ed.
so my question racketeers is it possible to hack it now, or maybe over time?
or should i just give up?
Is there a cfw or downgrade for a psp with ofw 6.37

No downgrade option, YET. Little Brother needs to be taught that upgrading someone else's firmware is a BIG NO-NO, on any system ever.
Your options are:
1.) Go find signed hombrew. Google will lead you right to a lot of it.
2.) Learn how to sign unsigned EBOOT.PBP files. It's pretty easy, but not everything can be signed. Read up on it.
3.) Half Byte Loader (HBL) is something that you should read up on. Here's the download: http://filetrip.net/f23756-SIGNED-Half- ... v-113.html I'm not familiar with it yet, but it supposedly can help you run hombrew on 6.37 - even some that can't be signed.
Here is a (signed) program you can use to sign unsigned homebrew (don't waste your time trying to get ISO loaders working, as the require kernel mode, which this won't sign) http://filetrip.net/f23691-SIGNED-PSCRYPTER-2-0.html
I actually used that (PSCRYPTER) to sign PSPHugo (http://www.zophar.net/consoles/psp/tg16/psphugo.html) and it worked great on OFW.
Here is a signed Genesis emulator http://filetrip.net/f23695-SIGNED-PicoDrive-1-51.html
So that is perfect or near-perfect Genesis & TG16 emulation right there, and I think they also do CD-based games for those systems. You can try some other emulators as well, but I've not had success with CPS2PSP, NesterJ, or SNES9X (Euphoria R5). I am going to try some other emulators and other tools as well.
EDIT: FCEU-PSP v0.3 (http://www.psp-hacks.com/2009/11/26/fce ... or-update/) can be signed with PSCRYPTER, so add NES to the list.

Thanks for the info. Now I just have to wait for comcast to come and re hook up my internet so I can do something. The cable lines got taken out because huge icicles and sheets of ice fell from the roof of my building.

I just noticed over at Bitgamer they have quite a few signed PSP games. Apparently there is a size restriction to this, so bigger games have had stuff (languages, videos) ripped out. I'm sure lots of games are unsignable right now.
The point is you can play them on OFW 6.37 (right from the XMB, no ISO loader, etc)
If you aren't on Bitgamer, these will surely be available elsewhere. If not now, then soon. Or you could make them yourself.
This would be a really nice option for PSP Go owners on 6.37 who can't play their UMD collection.

Well, thanks to the keys being leaked from the official PS3 firmware you can do the same thing as what you can do on PS3 and repackage retail games as PSN titles. However, because there's a limit to the size of PSN games on PSP you have to rip the games to fit. However any game that is under that file limit will work. I don't know how to do them for PSP games but it's pretty straight forward on PS3. You decrypt the binary and just edit the SFO file to be a PSN title with no DRM. Easy. Yes, the PS3's 'security' (if you can call it that) is really that easy to bypass. A complete fucking joke, well done, Sony *golf clap*.
