Ordinarily I would say ebay.com but as you are in England, I do not know if that would be a good course of action.

I guess my first question would be: Is it for a PAL region gamecube?
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Well I would recommend you sell your GB player and use the funds to subsidize the purchase of another one with the disc.

This is for the US thought, I would call Nintendo of Europe and see if they have a PAL version, or if thats even necessary. I couldn't find a Nintendo of Europe store.

I'm pretty sure the disc itself is what controls the region since it is actual region free GBA hardware in there and you can for instance use a US disc on a sexy orange spice GB Player plugged into a US GC.

What about a black GBA player plugged into a sexy orange spice of sex GCN?

If you have a soft-modded Gamecube, maybe you could try downloading an iso of the GB Player boot disc and try loading it from an SD card?

Might be okay as a temporary solution while you look for a proper boot disc.

I've heard Freeloader discs work with the Gameboy Players. At least, that what the local import shop told me, but I've seen it posted on other forums too.

I've never tried it myself; still have my regular discs and I don't import for the system (that's what freeloader is for I think). But if you happen to have a freeloader disc lying around, it's worth a shot.

I have a feeling that his is going to be a big problem in the future. I once heard an employee at a game store in town complain that they had 20 Game Boy Players but on five or six disks.
