is the ps1 swap trick dangerous to your eyes?

Post by DAAAAA!! »

i have only done it a few times (and it actually works!)

but i remeber my cousin getting pissed because i would take out the gamecube disc too quickly after turning off the gamecube because he said the laser would leave me blind.. should i be wearing sunglasses when i do it or is it fine to look directly at the laser when it is reading the disc?..
i have a:
Atari 2600 jr, Front loading NES, Top loading NES, Retro duo, Nintendo 64, Game Cube with a GameBoy Player, Wii, Gameboy, Gameboy Pocket, Gameboy Color,Gameboy Advance, GameBoy Advance sp, DS Lite, Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast, Game Gear, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PSP, Xbox, Xbox 360, Bandai WonderSwan Color and Neo Geo pocket Color ;D

It's PS2's laser you don't wanna look at.

All lasers can be harmful but you have to look directly at them and they would need to be close to the focus range too. As long are you aren't messing with a system with no lid and smashing your face into the system to look at the laser you'll be fine.

I can't imagine why you'd look directly at the laser but that's another discussion altogether.
But sadly no, you will not get cheap laser eye surgery that way.

Didn't the PS2 have a radioactive warning on the laser's case? I always thought that was amusing.
