DS puzzle games
DS puzzle games
I was thinking of getting a Nintendo DS solely for the puzzle games. Do you think there's enough good games to justify the purchase?

Re: DS puzzle games
I would say so. It depends what you mean by puzzle games exactly though.
You've got:
Professor Layton 1-3
Meteos
tetris ds
Tetris Party
puzzle league
puzzle quest
Polarium
Zoo Keeper
Pokemon Trozei!/Link!
Actionloop
Picross DS
Picross 3D
Slitherlink (if you dont mind importing)
Brain Training (contains lots of sudokus even if you dont want the main game)
More Brain Training (Has a Dr.Mario-esque puzzle game mode)
Gunpey
PicPic
And debating on how far you're wanting to extend the meaning of 'puzzle game':
Ace Attorney series
Soul Bubbles
Ghost Trick
Another Code/Trace Memory
Hotel Dusk & Last Window
Mario vs DK series
Ivy the Kiwi?
Henry Hatsworth
These are just the ones I can think of as being known as pretty high quality games, there's loads more. If you get a DSi you'll have access to another huge selection of puzzle games, including the Art Style series, which is a selection of brilliant puzzle games that I'd heartily recommend.

Meteos is probably still one of the best.

Re: DS puzzle games
An original DS is go cheap and easy to come by nowadays the answer is defiantly yes.
Id say it is worth it just for meteos and tetris alone

Re: DS puzzle games
The DS is home to two of the greatest "puzzle" series of all time: Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton. That is a total of 8 games between the series [not counting Japanese-only releases], all on the DS. You will also get about 10-25 hours out of each game in each series, depending on your pace. Both series are famous for unexpectedly good storylines, and in my opinion, created a puzzle game renaissance this generation.

Whenever I end up with another ds I need to get on the professor layton series. I have had enough people suggest it to me to not play them.lisalover1 wrote:The DS is home to two of the greatest "puzzle" series of all time: Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton. So it's backwards compatible? 3DS>DSI>DS, etc...These are just the ones I can think of as being known as pretty high quality games, there's loads more. Re: DS puzzle games
I really enjoyed this game puchi puchi virus its a puzzle game where you tap three of the same color with your stylus and you get the picture.
The game gives you certain objectives and they may seem hard but they are passable!
Last I checked it was real cheap in gamestop, I paid $10 for it new in the box about a year ago.
