Moving's a B!+CH
I have to move cause the owner of the house wants it back! And quick! Thankfully my mom found a new place! I've been moving and packing my things for about 4 days in between work and home and I'm not even half way done! Not to mention the normal things in my home!
have any of you guys done this before? Moving and moving your collection? I swear I've done like 30 boxes and I'm still packing more!
Post some of your stories about moving and stuff!
I'm glad its only across town and not across states (or even countries).
But a good thing is that I'm finding stuff that I didn't even know I had or had totally forgotten about.
heres some pics of what I've been doing and now I have to make trips of just my stuff!

I remember when one of my close buddies moved to a house he bought with his girl. His collection is one of those monstrous ones that takes up an entire dedicated room. Also, not to forget that have easily 1200+movies. Geez that took them a while.

Re: Moving's a B!+CH
I went to school 1100 miles away and moved 3 times while at school. Granted I didn't have everything with me. I've moved 5 times around Houston. One of those moves was an emergency as the crappy landlord decided to default on the bank lien on the property due to a water leak under our building. They did this on purpose since it was going to be too expensive to fix for a place built in the 20s or 30s. They apparently sent out letters a month before people had to get out but didn't send it certified, tell us in person, or call. It wasn't the best neighborhood and mail was stolen all the time so guess what we never got? We found out on a Thursday when the people next door were moving out that we were supposed to be out on Sunday. Friday was emergency apartment hunting day and the weekend was moving madness.
But yes, moving is a pain in the butt ox.

Re: Moving's a B!+CH
moving from Denmark to Sweden, I couldn't bring all my stuff, due to financial difficulties
hence I packed four bags and left the rest (Amiga/C-64 +everything) and took the ferry
needless to say, I ended up living on the streets for 2½ years
yeah... moving is a bitch, no doubt about it
add to that the fact that I moved 32 times, by the time I was 24
now I'm stuck in a one-room apartment with mah girflriend and 4 cats, hence we need to move again
this time around, I'm bringing everything with me though

Re: Moving's a B!+CH
hehe, I mainly moved that many times due to my family
now that I live with my girlfriend I want to settle down
we're on the lookout for a house, or bigger apartment and that will be my absolute final move
I've lived in this apartment since I was 24 (am 33 now) and it's getting a bit cramped (my girlfriend moved in with me about 3 months after I moved in)

Yes. Moving is a bitch. In related news, getting kicked in the nuts hurts (sometimes it takes the pain a few minutes to settle in).

And here I was thinking I was the only person in the entire world who moved that many times.

I seriously lost count after 24 or 25 times (that was about 3 years ago and im 25 now) so I might be at that number or you got me beat by a couple of moves. I know the gypsy lifestyle too, and for me it seems im never in one spot for too long anyways. Youd figure doing it so many times you would get used to it, but you never really do.
Just a couple of weeks ago i moved outta my folks apartment into another apartment with my dads co worker as his roomate. I started packing my stuff a week ahead and was a little over halfway done by moving day, what was left over was just the big stuff and a handful of stuff i didnt have time to organize pack yet due to work and all. But over the course of a few days (with the help of my bro) i was able to get about half of what was in my room unpacked and displayed while the other went to my storage closet. Ill probably make a thread soon with my new pad since i took pics and what not.
