I'm a HUGE Trekkie. I don't go around dressed in a Starfleet uniform, or speak Klingon. But I love watching the TV shows and the movies. Some of the greatest sci-fi ever made, IMO.
I was wondering if there were another Star Trek fans out there?
Which series is your favorite Star Trek series (The Original Series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, Enterprise, or The Animated Series)?
The Next Generation for me. That's what I grew-up with. Picard, Giordi, Worf, Riker, and Data, are all unforgettable. This is also when the Cardassians and The Borg became big threats, and both were great villain races. Great stories, too. And arguably the greatest cliffhanger in television history happened on this series: "The Best of Both Worlds" which part 1 ended with us seeing Picard become a Borg and half of the Starfleet ships destroyed by a single Borg Cube, and Part 2 didn't air until the following season as it's season opener.
Who is your favorite Captain (Kirk, Picard, Sisko, Janeway, or Archer? (or maybe it's Sulu))
Kirk. The guy is unforgettable. Brash, bold, a fighter, and a ladies man.
Who is your favorite Star Trek Villain?
The Borg for me. They were the ultimate villains when I was growing up, watching ST: The Next Generation. Cold, emotionless, powerful, and ever-growing.
I really liked The Klingons, too. Great warrior race for enemies. Unfortunately, they were allies in The Next Generation. Cardassians are cool too, just because they're so dang crafty you never know what they're gonna do. And Moriarty in particular was cool to me.
Which were your favorite Star Trek Movies?
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan - Generally considered the greatest Star Trek film, period, by most fans. It is the best Star Trek film starring the original crew, IMO. So much action, intensity, and "wow" moments. And the infamous death of a much-loved character (I won't spoil it if you haven't seen it). It's also the beginning of the Trek Trilogy: ST 2, 3, & 4 all are connected. I do suggest watching The Original Series Star Trek episode entitled "Space Seed" which was the first, and only other appearance of the villain, Khan. It'll flesh out the story more in ST II: The Wrath of Khan, and is one of the best episodes of the series anyways.
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home - The most mainstream Star Trek movie, even more so than the recent relaunch movie. It has a lot of comedy. For longtime fans, this fleshes out the characters a lot more and was very satisfying. And for casual fans, you didn't have to worry about continuity and back-story and complicated sci-fi storylines. The Enterprise and crew must travel-back in time to save the future. They travel to modern-day Earth (the 1980s). This movie directly follows the events of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and Star Trek III: The Search For Spock.
Star Trek: Generations - Okay, so this is the one that everyone else seems to hate, but I love. This is basically the "passing-the-torch" movie from the original crew to the Next Generation crew, and is the 1st movie to have The Next Generation crew in it. It opens in Kirk's era, but most of the movie take's place in the Next Generation era. In it, Captain Kirk teams up with Captain Picard to take down the film's villain. I think people just had too high of expectations for this movie since it had both the original crew and TNG, and I think that is why most people hate it. I really enjoyed it.
Star Trek: First Contact - This movie was my personal favorite Star Trek movie, and was the 2nd movie with The Next Generation crew. In it, the Federation's most feared and powerful enemy, The Borg, travel-back in time (but still the future to us viewers) to try and prevent humans from ever reaching faster-than-light space travel and as a result prevent the Federation of Planets from ever forming. It's up to Captain Picard and the rest of The Next Generation crew to follow The Borg and stop them. Easier said than done with 1 ship and 1 crew since The Borg wiped out half of Starfleet's fleet of ships in their last battle. It also tells you the story of how humans did first gain faster-than-light travel, tells a bit of previously unknown Star Trek history, and shows humanity's "First Contact" with an alien species (not counting The Borg).

Re: Star Trek Fans?
Star Trek TNG fan here! I grew up with TNG from beginning to end. Had most of the figures, sets, and props made by Playmates. Even nerded out my friends in Elementary school to play Star Trek with me. Had 5-6 who enjoyed discussing and role playing after school and during recess. Good times.
I still love Star Trek to this day and even took a small liking to the original series although TNG is my favorite of all time with DS9 a distant second.
Which series is your favorite Star Trek series (The Original Series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, Enterprise, or The Animated Series)?
Obviously that would be TNG for me. I love Captain Picard and Cdr. Data. Any episode that had to do with Romulans and the prime directive had me all over it like a bum on a sandwich. But you know what made TNG really good? Those sequences between Q and Picard. Oh yeeeeah good stuff.
Oh, that and Ferengi. I guess that's why DS9 is my second favorite series. I love Ferengi but every thing else in that series like Cardassinans *outside of Garek of course*, Dominion, etc can suck a left nut. DS9 managed to pussify the Klingons way too much for me.
Who is your favorite Captain (Kirk, Picard, Sisko, Janeway, or Archer? (or maybe it's Sulu))
Picard all the way. Charming, well learned, a romantic, and didn't take crap from anyone.
Who is your favorite Star Trek Villain?
I thought the Borg were pretty cool till the movies and especially what Voyager did to them. I prefer the TNG version of the Borg especially what they did with Hugh.
My favorite villains are the TNG Romulans, especially the Tal-shiar. Mmm espionage and treachery for the win.
Which were your favorite Star Trek Movies?
Star Trek is kind of hard to make movies out of because they have to appeal to non-Trek fans and usually screw up cannon and the space-time continuum. I suppose my favorite would either be the new Star Trek film and Generations.
I liked Generations for the same reason as the OP basically. But I think that All Good Things made a better plot for a movie even though it was a 2 part episode.
I'd probably like the original movies more if they used Montgomery Scott more. :3
All the rest aren't things I tend to watch much even though I own all of them.

Re: Star Trek Fans?
I used to be a Star Trek fan but the formulaic, reset-button nature of the shows story lines kinda killed it for me. When Babylon 5 got started with its (IMO) superior story lines, characterization, and music I lost some of my love for Trek.
That said, I did enjoy the latter half of Deep Space Nine quite a bit and the last few seasons of The Next Generation were pretty decent. Voyager was an empty promise and Enterprise was cancelled right as it was starting to get its act together.
Of course, the old movies are still some of the most entertaining bits of cinema ever committed to film, especially The Wrath of Khan and The Undiscovered Country.
The most recent movie was the most idiotic and annoying thing I have ever seen.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

With that said, I don't know much about Star Trek, either. I'm a Star Wars guy.

Re: Star Trek Fans?
I liked Star Trek a lot more when I was 5 than I do now. There's just too many shows and too many movies that you have to watch. With Star Wars, you just watch the original trilogy, and you're set. I'll add that I do like Star Trek 2 The Wrath of Khan, cause it was just plain good. I just don't have much interest in the rest.

Which series is your favorite Star Trek series...for me it's till the original, but i think deep space nine and the next generation were the best series. I never cared for enterprise.
Who is your favorite Captain.... Kirk by a longshot, but picard was cool too
Who is your favorite Star Trek Villain...honestly, the romulans.
Which were your favorite Star Trek Movies...the voyage home despite all it's obvious liberal agenda, first contact, the undiscovered country, the new one. Basicly every one but 5.
I have loved star trek since I was a kid and could care less who knows it and dislikes it.

I was really into TNG when I was a young'n, but haven't really watched ANYTHING since. I wouldn't mind getting back into it though...
Re: Star Trek Fans?
The original series will always be my favorite but I'd have to say Picard is the best captain but I'd take commander/captain Sisko as the most compelling character overall.
Ow! My small intestine!
