3ds or ngp (psp2)

Post by swiftzx »

Since the Next Sony handheld has been announced, which of the handhelds do you want to get more? Each has games appealing to different audience and both boast capabilities, such as the 3ds with 3d gaming or psp2 with ps3 graphics. Which one make you want to have it in your pockets more?

I won't know for sure until I get to actually see the things. The 3D without glasses aspect of the 3DS has me wanting it more right now just because it's something that hasn't been done before and that will probably make the experience of owning a 3DS ultimately more important to me than the experience of owning the PSP2.

I voted neither I have two DS Lites and a DSI XL. Plus I own a PSP Go that I rarely use and I have had two other PSP's.

Sony in my opinion is really lacking on good games for the PSP right now and the Playstation store download is a pain in the ass to me. I only play Tetris and Work Time Fun on my Go during down time at work anymore.

3D just doesnt seem to be that big of a deal to me so I doubt I would get a 3DS any time soon either.

If I buy a handheld this year it will be a Sega Game Gear or an Atari Lynx LOL.

I will get the 3DS at launch because there will be games I want for it. If I get this Neo Geo Poc- err... Next Generation Portable (stupid name) it will be years from now, I imagine.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

The trick is that resolution is a squared problem. So since it has a much smaller resolution than a TV it takes less power for the same number of polygons.

I voted neither. I have a ton of great games on my current DSi & PSP I haven't even started yet. Also, you know theres probably going to be reliability issues with the 1st gen models. By the time the 'Lite' and 2K versions come out in a year or so, they'll be better designed, have the bugs worked out, they'll cost less & have a affordable game library worth buying. Then I'll compare and make my choice.

I wasn't aware of any reliability issues with either the PSP1000 or the DS phat...

What surprises me is that the PSP2 doesn't have a screen larger than the iPhone 4. I find it odd that Sony wouldn't make sure it was better than it's competitors in every way.
