Hi,
i'm asking for help form anyone that uses an external means to access content (i.e. mp3's, roms, etc) on their original xbox, not 360, but original. Here's the set up:
soft-modded xbox running unleashx, but want to switch to XBMC, with a 250 GB HDD installed and want to upgrade my storage capacity. i already have a 1TB SATA in an enclosure that's been sitting around collecting dust. I'd like to store all my content on that, and run it from that drive. Now, is that what samba share is for? Form what i've been reading, it is, but are there any negatives to this type of setup? Or is there another method that would work best?
I'm not looking to stream HD movies, just a few roms and maybe an ISO or two. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Re: OXbox help: to use samba share or not use samba share
To use the samba share, you would have another computer with the 1TB drive (or something else) connected to it and the computer shares the drive out. Or you can have some sort of network file server. Basically anything that supports the SMB (server message block) windows networking.
