I'm sure it will fail like when he tried a few years ago, but hooray for relying on faulty studies. Or maybe it is that the comic books and rock and roll damaged his brain as a kid so he is unable to think rationally.

Wow, this guy is an asshole and a moron. Video games don't cause violence. If anything, they reduce it.

Police inspect the house of a violent person, find video games, and assume that the video games were the cause of the violent behavior. Never mind the fact that most people play video games. If they really caused violent behavior, the world would have been overrun with total chaos by now.

What pisses me off is how everyone who claims that video games cause violence never actually play games themselves. If you ask a hardcore gamer, he will tell you it's a bunch of bullshit. I have been playing video games my entire life and I am not violent at all.

Indeed. There's that other study showing that teen violent crimes have been dropping like crazy since the PS1 came out and they were paying attention. Yes people can 'get into the game' and get a little riled up, but the same thing happens when people play sports or other activities. The people that go truly nuts while playing a game and stab someone would probably have been set off by losing a game of football or someone getting their order wrong at a fast food place too.

He should talk to the Surgeon General about it before declaring himself an expert and throwing useless legislature around.

Senator Joe Baka wrote:"The video game industry has a responsibility to parents, families, and to consumers – to inform them of the potentially damaging content that is often found in their products," said Rep. Baca. "They have repeatedly failed to live up to this responsibility."
Yeah. Because the games industry is responsible for the development of our youth. God forbid that parents actually start doing their part and read the ESRB rating explanations, in order to make an informed decision.

I don't see warning signs on the ballot and politicians have been proven to engage in agressive behavior, both at home and abroad, consistently.
