Does the Game Boy Player work without a boot disk?
Today at a pawn shop i saw a Game Boy Player that attatches to the bottom of the gamecube. These usually go for 80 or 90 dollars but the guy there said this one didnt have a boot disk and there was some gooey, crusty stuff inside so he'd sell it to me for $40. now, the crap inside i can clean up, but will it work without a boot disk? If not, could i call nintendo tech support and get me a new one?

Was it you? I know I bought it from someone on SXlordofduct wrote:40 bucks... fuck that shit.

racketboy, didn't I sell you mine? I think it was you who bought it. If so how much did you buy mine for WITH the boot disk.
The price of the GBA Players has fluctuated a LOT lately. I saw reports of them hitting close to $100 about six months ago (and I verified it), but then I checked back a few months later and they were all selling for about $50 again.
I think I paid you about $30-40.
I don't really remember -- it's been a while

It needs it.carslayer wrote:The guy at the pawnshop swears to me that hes certain it will work without the boot disk.
is there any glitch or is it in any way possible to get this thing without a disk? like some kind of trick? i just want to be sure, cause this guy is telling me hes absolutely certain.
I have my player plugged in all the time.
If you don't have the boot disc, it will just sit there waiting for a Gamecube disc.

Around here they were really cheap at first, but over the years they went out of print and their price and rarity just skyrocketed. i was talking to some EB Games employees and they said they would never have one in because whenever one was traded in the nearest employee bought it immediately. When i finally saw one last month at a pawn shop it was $90 (CAN$), so for me this S40 without a disk is great for me.
ANd i do have a modchip in my gamecube, and a bunch of those mini DVD disks for camcorders to burn gamecube games. I just wonder if i could find the image anywhere.
