Question about NES Top Loader

Post by retrogamer01 »

I have seen yellow discolored NES front loaders, and all of us have seen yellow super nintendos, but i have yet to see a discolored top loader. Ive searched about it and have never seen a complaint or photo of a discolored NES top loader. Can these things discolor? I live in a smoking house and want it fully protected until i move.

I think you are in the same boat as everyone else. They don't discolor. The thing that makes the others discolor is sun exposure and the fact that they had a flame retardant chemical put on the plastic. It was no good and caused the discoloration over time.

They don't discolor the way NES and SNES consoles do, but you should do your best to keep yours away from smoke if at all possible. Smoke gets inside electronics and can leave a pretty unpleasant residue that's a real hassle to clean. Trust me on this, I smoked for years before I finally kicked the habit.
