Games about dreams?

Post by J T »

I watched the movie Dreamscape again last night where a psychic is recruited for a research study to enter other peoples dreams to help or harm them. Afterwards, I was thinking this would be an awesome premise for a videogame- entering people's dreams and battling their subconscious minds. Is there anything that does this?

The only games that came to mind were Psychonauts and Litte Nemo. Plus the St. Elsewhere ending to Super Mario Bros 2. What other games deal in dreams?

Well, there's NiGHTS into Dreams, and its sequel, as well as LSD Dream Emulator for the PS1.

Depending on the ending achieved and one's own personal interpretation, most (if not all) Silent Hill games could take place in dreams.

Nightmare On Elm Street (NES) is one of my favorite games ever. The fact that every level has 2 versions of it depending on if you're awake or asleep was brilliant. And you can CHOOSE to wake up since it's dangerous in the dream by finding coffee, stereo, etc OR you can choose to stay asleep because you're more powerful in the dream world. So awesome.

LSD is available on Japanese PSN for 600 Yen. I'm thinking about getting it myself, as I think it looks weird enough that I have to give it a shot.
