Hacking a PSP 3000 (Noob Warning)

Hey everyone, I am new to the whole hacking scene, I am trying to downgrade my PSP to the required 5.03, but I can't get it to work for some reason, it keeps saying to me that its no use to "upgrade", I just want to know what am I doing wrong and what am I suppose to do? I am following the instructions and I am just stuck. Again, I am a noob when it comes to these things.

I'll start off with the most important question:

What firmware are you on?

If you are using 6.20 or below, use the new TN-HEN B, a new softmod that is the next big breakthrough in the psp modding scene. From there, you can either downgrade to 5.03, but the current opinion is that TN-HEN is going to be better than chickHEN for 5.03 soon enough.

If you are above 6.20, you are screwed for the time being. You can run homebrew, but not run a HEN or ISO loader.

I can vouch for avrame - helped me a lot in a previous thread.

I know I wanted to hack my 3000, but had to settle with doing up my phat instead due to the 3000 being unable to use a Pandora's Battery! avrame is the one to go to about HEN things though!

Yep, wait. The master keys have been found for the PSP, so you should be able to have complete open access to the PSP soon, just like the PS3.
