So, I just acquired a PSP-3000 today and a 4GB memory stick. Thank you boxing week blowout sales.
What a cool system! I've used them before, but not a lot. I'm busy downloading my PS1 and PC Engine games onto it (I didn't bother to pick up any "real" PSP games). Now I can play DoDonPachi and Lords of Thunder on the toilet (without using my netbook)! Yay!
I have active Canadian, Japanese and EU PSN accounts. It seems that I can only use one account on a PSP. Is that true? On the PS3, I can download games from different accounts and mix them under one name. Can I download games from my Canadian and Japanese accounts and use them both on my PSP? I'd like to have some of my Canadian downloaded PSN games, like FFVII, Wild Arms, etc. in addition to the few dozen Japanese shoot 'em ups I have (which are AWESOME on the toilet!).
Not that I'm neglecting my DS...

Re: Picked me up a PSP
If you can't, I'm sure there's a hack somewhere that will let you. Try googling PSP updates and check out the qj website that pops up. Lots of programs on there
I just got an ipod touch 4th gen. It's my first ipod and between that, the PSP and the Nintendo DS I am just loving portable gadgets right now

Don't forget about Half Byte Loader (HBL for short). Depending on what firmware you are on, HBL with let you do a lot. Not sure if it will help you with your PSN games, but there's so much else you can play that I think it's a fair trade.

Check it out
And don't update your firmware ever again until you are absolutely sure that you know what you're giving up.
OOh!, I have a idea. Can you download the PSN games through your PS3 or Computer? That might be a workaround for putting them onto your PSP without worrying about what account you are using. I think you still have to register the PSP with the PS3 or PC, but otherwise the account it comes from shouldn't matter.

Also, I am posting this link while on the throne.
Re: Picked me up a PSP
I find it shocking that the PSP can properly emulate the PS1 and GBA (both 32-bit platforms) and not the SNES.

I'm also amazed it can do neo geo and Capcom arcade games. Yet they still can't do all of the other mame arcade games out therePulsar_t wrote:![]()

Re: Picked me up a PSP
It seems that having games from more than one account on a PSP at the same time is no problem at all! I downloaded a bunch of games from my JPN PSN account, deleted it, and the games were still there. I then logged into my CDN account, downloaded some games, and they joined the JPN games in the game list. They ALL play under one account. YAY!
Now I can switch between English Symphony of the Night and DoDonPachi while having a bowl movement on the toilet! Joy!
edit: nope, I was wrong. Stupid Sony!
I have to delete one account, log into the other AND download a game. I just keep redownloading a small game, so it's faster. After that, THEN I can switch accounts. What a pain!

Re: Picked me up a PSP
68000-based arcades shouldn't be that tasking, the DS can do most Neo-Geo games too thanks to some clever optimisations. I used to play MAME on a Pentium I and there were tons of supported games. I guess it's all up to developer dedication to optimise the emulation per platform. The SNES has proven to be problematic but it escapes me why..Gamerforlife wrote:I'm also amazed it can do neo geo and Capcom arcade games.
