Was there a sequel for Skies of Arcadia announced?

Post by kinn »

I dunno If my mind is playing tricks on me or maybe I read some rumour and took it for real but wasnt there a sequel announced for this game?

And I know this team (Overworks right?) has been integrated back into Sega but what are they doing now?

Sega needs to make more RPGs like this. This was a great game.

I think the most we ever got was an interview with someone saying that they WANT to do a sequel. I'm not sure.

Hi Mozgus

Its a shame there isnt a sequel. Didnt this game sell well?

I remember It was also announced for the PS2 as well but was canned since they wanted to slap it on GC first or something.

Thought this was like the start for Sega to bring out many RPGs...I guess not. Still dont understand why Sega dont make more RPGs.

It wasn't record breaking, but it sold well because it was highly rated and it came out on two very RPG-starved systems.

Skies of Arcadia is a jewel on the DC catalogue.
Despite I love RPG's, I think some sagas are better as they are.
See the disaster they made with "Tales of..."

No sequel here please.

Honestly, I think Eternia is easily the best in the series, and I believe it was the 3rd chronologically. So sometimes sequels are welcome. But after Eternia, the series just became retarded.

Maybe not a sequel to Skies then but atleast another RPG from the same team would have been welcomed. Guess that wont happen now...

Really think Sega is lacking in good RPGs. Lets hope that this new Sonic RPG by Bioware is a sign that Sega realises this!

LOL. I can see why. The Sonic universe doesn't seem to me like a rich source for a RPG. But I'm certain that Bioware will prove us wrong! Besides, how could it possibly be worse than the recent Sonic game!?

Defo something new would be great too.

Well, I wouldn't mind another Phantasy Star if they'd ditch the whole "Universe" concept and go back to straight-forward RPGs. That and a remake of Shining Force III, or even a true Shining Force IV would be great.
