Older PC exclusive games with a good story.

I'm kinda new to PC gaming in general as I've mainly avoided it in the past for a number of reasons. However I just bought a new laptop that can play games that aren't requirement heavy. I've been browsing GOG lately, and I like the selection for the most part. They do have a vast selection of RPGs and strategy games.

Unfortunately, I've also noticed they are mostly those isometric view style RPGs and strategy games with that open world, generic ho hum open style storyline. While I can appreciate the open world style game, the generic story with no character attachment pretty much ruins it for me. Ok, so heres what I'm pretty much looking for. PC exclusive games that do not have heavy requirements and have a good storyline.

Suggestions don't have to be RPGs or strategy games. I love horror games, platformers and RPGs among other genres. I just ordered the Penumbra Collection and I can't wait until it comes in. I'm not really a first person game lover, but it looks pretty creepy. Also preordered Back To The Future, I just hope it plays on my PC. Please, any suggestions are welcome, thanks everyone!

It's not a PC exclusive though.

As for PC exclusives, I wouldn't be me if I didn't mention the massive back catalog of great Point and Click adventure games. (Monkey Island Series, Indy and Fate of Atlantis, Day of the Tentacle, Sam & Max, The Dig, the list goes on and on).

There are kind of old buy I liked them. No idea if they are compatible with anything higher than XP except for half-life.

Obsidian (If you can still find it). Like a 6 CD game like Myst.
Half-Life games

These all have strong characterizations, and while some did appear on the consoles the PC version came first and is the best experience.
