Panzer dragoon saga won't boot on my mod chipped saturn?

I modded my saturn a few years ago and played some awesome games like guardian heroes, virtual on and assault suit leynos 2. Now i want to get into panzer dragoon saga and while i've burned the game several times, it just plays the cg movie before the title screen, but when i press start it just goes to the console screen and say s"checking disc format", so i can never get the changce to start a new game. I've sucessfully booted other saturn games on cdrs such as the one listed above with no problems so i don't know whats wrong here. one person from another forum said to change the laser voltagebut hopefully it doesn't come to that. Any tips? Its been a long time since i've posted here, (had to recreate my account) and i'm glad things are still kicking on the board

It might be a problem with the ROM. Have you tried using others?

Also, what program are you using to burn it?

id download an emulator and see if it does the same thing, if it does, its your rom.

Yeah, you could try and boot the image in an emulator (make sure the emulator supports the game - and find out if there's bugs). Sounds to me like you got a bad image, try downloading it from another source.

I remember this game giving me a ton of trouble as well. There is a bad image of this game floating around so do as the others suggest. I got a working version from Underground Gamer, so try there. I also remember seeing in a forum to use and older version of Nero, i think it was version 5 or disc juggler to burn it. I think there is some specific issue with just this game, i burnt it ages ago tho' so i can't really remember what it is.

Yeah i've downloaded the image for disc 1 like 3 different times lol. one from coolrom, one from emuparadise, etc. none of them work. I used to be a member of undergroundgamer but they deleted my inactive account and registration is locked -_-

anyone know of a reliable source for the images or have an invite to undergroundgamer?

Ok, so i signed up for underground gamer and I downloaded disc 1, apparently it was the same image that i have been using i think, since it says team andromeda. Anyways, its the same result, goes to the bios screen. What can be wrong here? Btw, i can't get the emulator cassini, ssf to work so i can't test that way...

Of course my saturn can play my other saturn cdr games liek guardian heroes. Really strange really.

Are you burning the disc slowly, say 4x to 12x? The slower the better.

I read somewhere that discs should be burned at half their max speed, so half of 52x would be 26x burning speed for me. I'll try the lower burning speed. I should've done this in the beginning, since I'm used to doing that for ps2 dvdr games

I got a rom image of the game from Snesorama, seemed to work fairly well for the first two discs, so I'd recommend that. Otherwise what the others said.
