NeoDS Roms Converter Not Working

I'm trying to get NeoDS working, particularly the rom converter, which reminds me why I gave up trying it the first time. I put all of my Neo Geo roms and Neo Geo BIOS in the same directory as the converter, and run the converter .exe, it runs for about 1.5 seconds, then ends without outputting any .neo files. Is there anything I am doing wrong? I am sure that the roms are the Neo Geo, not MAME version [although, I have tried MAME roms, just in case, but they still didn't convert], so that shouldn't be an issue. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate for this. One reoccuring problem I encounter during file conversion is that it always stops with the line:
"Opening ROM file: sfix.sfx
Missing file".
Does this mean anything?

Did you try running the program in XP compatibility mode? I'll see if I can try it out this weekend myself.

Still doesn't work. I tried downloading the rom from different sites, too, but nothing changed.

I took a closer look at this. The error message (poor message by the way) is saying that it cannot find sfix.sfx. If you look at your neogeo.zip, you'll see that there's a file in there named sfix.sfix. Extract that file and rename it to sfix.sfx and then add it back to the neogeo.zip file. It should then work.

It would have been nice if the error message said something like "ERROR: Unable to locate sfix.sfx in the archive neogeo.zip"

I actually tried using the converter program included in NeoDS 0.1.0, which successfully converted the files, but they didn't run in the actual NeoDS emulator. I'll try that renaming thing, though.

I see the filename as sfix.sfx back in the 1.0 version but there were substantial changes between the two files. I would have to think there were a bunch of bug fixes.

I was able to get the first meta slug to run successfully. Pretty impressive to see it playing on the DSi XL.
