Halo vs COD

Post by Ursula69 »

So, I love both Halo and the COD games although both are overrated.

What I like about the Halo games:

- Graphics
- Awesome Spartan armor
- Gameplay
- The music
- Setting
- The various multiplayer games
- Sgt. Johnson (my favorite character) :D
- The Covenant

What I like about the COD games:

- Nazi Zombies
- Gameplay
- Spec Op missions in MW2
- Graphics
- Gameplay
- Veteran difficulty because it's just fast and brutal.
- Storyline

I have two questions about this for you guys.

1. What's your favorite out of the two and why?

or

3. What don't you like about either of them and why? What game(s) do you prefer over both? (Specifically for the 360)

Okay guys, please keep it clean and stay frosty!

hm. Don't really like either one, but since I don't own a 360, I guess COD on my PC. I've only played the first Halo btw.

Halo 1 and 2 mainly for nostalgic reasons playing lan games with friends.

both Halo 3 and COD have a pretty bottom of the barrel online community so I do not bother to much with them. Although I did take the time to play through Halo 3.

Online, neither, the communities are just to terrible. Who likes it whenever you get a kill all you hear is "YOU STOLE MY KILL N00B!" or whenever you die and get bombarded by f-bombs from 13 year olds...

However with friends little can beat Halo:CE co-op. That library level leads to so many crazy moments. But if your talking about 'competetive' multiplayer i would go with either Halo 2 for the hilarious (but incredibly hard) glitches or Halo 3 for the sheer balance. Call of Duty and competetive should not go in the same sentence as although it's great fun, if you have better weapons you will win.

That's what I like about playing GoldenEye Wii online, you can't talk with anyone!

I rarely go online anymore because of the f-bombs and such; however, if I do go online, I try to mute the other players or just plain turn the volume down on the tv. I understand what you're saying about COD and competitiveness being in the same sentence. I just wanted to see what people preferred of the two because they are big games but not everyone likes them which is perfectly cool.

I slightly prefer COD because I prefer the mulitplayer a bit more.

COD is often a game of tactical advantage over skill, or at least i think thats what the developers intend, the community seems to find a way around that a lot of times.

For instance, in Halo games its often possible to get flanked and still manage to jump and work your way out of the problem.

In most COD games you will die if someone sneaks up on you. Regardless of your skill level, a master and a novice are the same if their back is turned.

For single player COD also wins out by a bit, mainly for the most recent game. It blows Reach's campaign away.

Oddly enough, Halo is better for co-op and local multi player. That is something COD has never gotten right.

That game has a fun online mode. (And that's saying something because I rarely like online gaming.)

So I guess I like the CoD series better. Plus I love having Nazi Zombies.
