It’s Official: Prince of Persia coming to the XBLA

Who remembers sitting in front of their Apple II as a kid, playing through the original Prince of Persia? The original is one of the most influential games of our time, and even today games like Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and it’s sequels have successfully translated the franchise to 3D. Well, now it’s time for the series to go back to it’s roots as Ubisoft announced today that the original Prince of Persia will be coming to the Xbox Live Arcade, with updated graphics to give the series the same style and flair of ‘The Sands of Time’.

PoP2 was even better. Really one of the greatest 2D action/adventure titles ever made. The Macintosh version looked spectacular for its time. Its the superior version IMHO. Scroll down for screenshots: http://popuw.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1025

Sands of Time has a secret mode on the console versions which was exactly this.

Prince of Persia 2 just had that annoying island right off the bat.

And it only took me eighteen years to beat Prince of Persia. Ill be damned before I start playing it again - I dont care how pretty it looks. I could never get past the part right before you fall into the "underworld." Granted a good ten of those years I didnt care either, but that is beside the point.
