I'm working on expanding my GB collection and I just have a couple of questions...
Are Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance games region-free? (I'm pretty sure they are but I'd like some verification.)
Also, if they are region-free, will they work properly on a Super Game Boy or Game Boy Player? (I'm assuming that they would work fine because they act like a Game Boy but I'd just like to double check that.)
Finally, does the Super Game Boy work well? Do the games look/sound/play better on a larger screen?
Thank you.
A few Game Boy questions
Re: A few Game Boy questions
GB games are region free
and they do look good big screen. Sorry I can't answer the second question as I don't know.

Re: A few Game Boy questions
yes they're region free.
Super GB can only play GB or black GBC carts.
I haven't played a Super GB in YEARS. But the GB Player for GCN plays all GB/GBC/GBA titles, all of them are region free. So dig in and enjoy. Now.
Oh and read my blog.

Thanks everyone.
Really off topic but do you think RFGeneration is a good site for posting things? I've been wanting to do a review of a game series for a while and I still don't know where I'd like to post it.
I have a GB Player but I think I'd like to switch it up a bit. And I think Super GB's just look cool.noiseredux wrote:I haven't played a Super GB in YEARS. But the GB Player for GCN plays all GB/GBC/GBA titles, all of them are region free.
I've already been looking at it from time to time. I had to read the Pinball of the Dead entry. Glad you got a copy.noiseredux wrote:Oh and read my blog.

Re: A few Game Boy questions
The SGB is awesome. You can mess with the color pallet which is neat. Plus a lot of games had built in borders like DK94, Killer Instinct, etc. Also, the SGB has 4-player capability on Bomberman, which is sick. But like I said, it cannot handle any clear GBC carts. But of course, that still gives you a hell of a lot of good games to play. The SGB is cheap! And you can grab a Hori SGB pad for probably around $30 which is kickass.Opa Opa wrote: I have a GB Player but I think I'd like to switch it up a bit. And I think Super GB's just look cool.![]()
