what's the best way to play street fighter II turbo: hyper fighting (aka SFII dash turbo) on a mac? to be clear, NOT super street fighter II, not championship edition - the faster one with only 12 characters
MAME OS X i don't like because you have to quit the game to use any other application. i've been playing the SNES version under SNES9x, but i'm looking for graphics truer to the original arcade version. the arcade version is fine, but i like the VS mode (including the win/lose stats after each round) and the better quality music. can anyone recommend the best version to emulate on a mac, and which program to play it with?
-- also, i know there are capcom specific arcade emulators for mac too (CPS1? CPS2?), but not sure if this version of street fighter is can be emulated with those programs...

MAME OS X is your best bet. I'm not sure what you mean by having to quit to use other programs, I'm assuming you mean that when you un-fullscreen it, it quits the ROM? I'm not sure if there's a way around that besides using it in a windowed mode, but you definitely can pause the game to do things in other programs. Maybe try a windowed mode the same size as your screen? Or maybe even try just command+tab in full screen mode to see if you can get to another program.

thanks for the replies everyone. i was able to emulate the ps1 version on my mac with good results... except for the load times. my friend and i basically just went back to the snes version. at the end of the day, playability is most important! i think the snes version is the best in terms of this
