Wii USB loader - will it brick my Wii?

Ok so I've had the HBC for a while now but I've decided that a HD full of all my games is just too convienient to pass up.

I know a few people here have done the same to their wii's and I was wondering which software and which tutorial is best to follow?

if you have the HBC installed, just install USBloader GX. You already did the hard part. I wont brick your wii.

The risk of brick comes when intalling the HB Channel or hacking the Wii. If you have HB Channel your Wii is already hacked. I would stay away from updates though.

Ok I was orininally looking at http://wehackwii.pbworks.com/w/page/8844446/USB-Loader which talks about deleting files and restoring older IOS files that open up an exploit and that makes me fairly twitchy tbh.

I've sinse found http://usbloadergx.koureio.net/downloads which describes installation as copying the dol file to the sd card which seems much sensible to me.

While we're on the subject of the HBC, is there a new exploit for installing the HBC? I never installed it until after the Twilight Princess exploit was patched. If so, where can I go to get started on that?

I'd like to hack my Wii but with Nintendo putting the updates on the discs now I don't want to risk bricking it. The last two Mario games I bought had the update in the disc and updated automatically when I tried to play the game for the first time. Just a heads up to those who want to buy games and have a Wii thats modded.

I know people who have hacked their Wii, and they've never had problems with updates removing their hacked software--it usually just closes the vulnerabilities that makes it possible to install and deletes any save games that might be used in known exploits.

Mind you, the people I know haven't done anything more drastic than installing the Homebrew Channel, so I'm not sure if other modifications might carry risks when updating.

Never mind, guys. I just found some info on the Smash Stack exploit. I'm going to try that out pretty soon, I think.
