How do I turn off google instant PERMANENTLY

So it never ever comes back. It is useless for anyone who types faster than 6 words per minute.

I have a script for firefox that disables the web/images/video/etc. bar fade in. Is there something like this to annihilate google instant?

I find it to be pretty helpful, but even if you don't, it shouldn't make any difference. You still get the same end result whether it's on or not.

I can't remember the last time I've actually gone to the google webpage for searches. I always just use the bar on my browser.

It's not about the end results. The constant refreshing of the page is just damn annoying.

I went to search settings on google and turned it off, haven't had any issues since.

Noscript disables google instant, if you block google.com scripts.

t0yrobo: If you never delete your cookies that might work. Although I tried to turn it off about 20 times and it kept turning back on even though I wasn't clearing my temp files.

Mr.popo: I usually do that initially, but if I don't find what I want then I'm using the actual page if I want to change my search terms.

thekorean: It makes a huge difference. It misses half my letters I'm typing because it can't keep up with me and instead of taking in what I type it's trying to update all the results. So I end up with vntge videogm wbsits in the search bar or some crap.

If anyone follows the instructions on the ehow page it will also give you the old google image search back.

Well if it's missing letters then I would say your computer is old and slow. I have no issues with typing at any speed. The instant aspect of google instant seems pretty flawless to me.
