So, probably I will joing the website bandwagon

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

So, probably I will joing the website bandwagon

Post by Erik_Twice »

Given how everyone around here is writting good stuff and posting it on the internet while I just store my thoughts on pieces of paper with more ink stains and corrections than actual reviews and commentaries.

Being as ambitious as I am, I want to write in both Spanish and English since I speak both languages (Just kidding, I don't speak either) and cover movies and books.

This brings problems because if I use two languages and have a review, a guide and an analisis for the same subject it's going to look like a mess, specially considering that I have absolutedly no idea of where to start.

I plan on including:

Reviews
Literary Analisis and commentaries
Video Game Guides or just stuff of a game
Guides to recommend or not art classics to a popular audience
Guides to recommend or not horrible art pieces to have a laugh
Random stuff like shorts stories and fun videos

I was going to add politics (As in "how we should live in society" not "Part A vs Party B") but seems a too serious topic that requires maintenance and I don't think it's worth it.

What do you think? Where should I look first? Can I be as awesome as you?

Probably not. :P I kid I kid.

Anyways, I think you should do what is personal to you.
Something you can make your own, and carve a hole that will make you noticed.
Oh yeah, you have to like it. It's like a career, what's the point if you don't like doing what you're doing?

To make more money, of course! :P

And yeah, do whatever you want to do. If you think it's too ambitious, maybe cut an area or two or just go in English or whatever. You can always go for the top and then cut back when you need to.

Anyway, good luck to you!

In short, you want to make a personal blog to talk about whatever crosses your mind. That's cool, but you should probably settle on one language, or make two blogs, one for each.

I think it's a great idea to go and use two languages to get your thoughts across. In all honestly though, if you don't have experience in running a website (I don't but stay with me here) I suggest sticking with a preferred language and revisit the other language at a later date when things pick up steam and traffic starts kicking up. A second suggestion would be to stick with one type of media first and, yadda yadda yadda, add the others later on. Start with books, movies or art first. See if it is worth the time invested.

Chances are if you overload yourself, you'd quit sooner than you'd hoped.

Of course, as everyone knows, writing something on the internet is the best way to get rich and famous!

Writting in two languages is not a problem work-wise, it's mainly a problem when it comes to design since it seems that it would look clunky if I post the same thing twice in a blog, but perhaps I'm too perfectionist

Actually half of my stuff that isn't completely edited and translated to both languages can be in any of the two. Sometimes I feel like writting in English and somtimes I prefer Spanish.

I think that what jfrost mentions, about making two blogs may work but there's probably a better way to do it.

Considering topics. I have something already written for several of those and the others can be ignored until I get my lazy ass moving. I spend 90 minutes per day conmuting so I tend to write a lot.

However, it's true I should focus on perhaps analisis and reviews first and then slowly add more stuff. It is not fun if there are 50 topics and each only have one entry.

What webpages do you recommend me? I have absolutedly no idea where to post this stuff, or how much it costs or those important things. Any tips?

Me, Im too lazy to attempt that, but maybe one day.....

well anyways whatever you do you need something to get readers attention.

write something that is fun for you, yet can make your readers want to stick around and see what else you have to say.

become wholly original and dont become one of those "me too bloggers" otherwise you may be soon forgotten

Yeah, I think I will talk about how awesome my cat is, I'm sure nobody ever thought of that

I think I will get some reviews and a couple of analisis before putting it all together. I just need to write them on a digital format.

Any help concerning webstites and stuff would be greatly appreciated.
