Easy RPGs That Are Still Amazing

Post by darthmunky »

What great RPGs do you love that you would consider to be too easy upon first playthrough? For me, it's gotta be the Fable games for sure. I love them but I don't remember ever dieing in the 2nd or 3rd one at all! And the Mass Effect games were pretty easy as well for the most part.

It's more a action rpg, but Okami was incredibly easy and still fun. I didn't die once through the game, and actually started avoiding battles because they bored me. But it was still well worth the time.

did you try and find all the Hidden Beads? The trial caves got pretty difficult, as was that fight when you had to fight all the canine warriors (either simultaneously or in succession - I can't remember exactly)

succession... had to be. and damn that game is good. yet 4 years later and i can't get into it for a second playthrough... never did get all the beads tho. u remember the third barrier puzzle where u have to paint the dots in order to break the talking wall? that last one was maddening. but yeah, it was pretty easy as a whole.

Dragon Quest VIII while it was the longest game I've ever played, it was easy if you leveled up. The battle system and gameplay stayed true to its user friendly roots. The game still looks beautiful today and the characters and story are great.

fffffffff - I played Okami only about 6 months ago so it's all still fresh in my mind. For that final block barrier puzzle, I kid you not, I had to write on my TV screen with a felt tip pen.

Aren't all RPGs easy? Excluding a few like The Bard's Tale where you're likely to die before you've had a chance to level up, all it takes to beat an RPG is an investment of time, not skill.

I still love RPGs, but I've never played one I'd call difficult. Also, Okami is not an RPG, it's a Zelda clone. Still a great game too.

Play Demon Souls and report back to me.
