Video game character cameos

I was thinking about video game character cameos while driving to work today and was wondering what some of your favorites may have been.

For whatever reason, Punchout!! always stood out to me as a kid because of the Mario cameo. The gameplay is the real star of the game, but Mario as the referee made a fun experience even better.

Another one that I always liked was Lucca from Chrono Trigger making an appearance in Xenogears as a tutorial-giver.

It always makes me smile that Klonoa has Pac Man on his hat.

I remember Link and Samus showing up in Super Mario RPG. I loved that as a kid.

Capcom is almost all about cameos, although one that springs to mind was seeing Blanka and Beast hanging out in one of the backgrounds for X-Men vs Street Fighter.

Ah yeah, that reminds me of Chun Li showing up in Breath of Fire II. I seem to remember there being some cameos in BOF3 as well, but can't place them.
