Help, my PS2 is broken.

Post by MrEco »

I tried popping in my copy of Metal Gear Solid 3 and for some reason it wouldn't work. Then I tried several other PS2 games and none of them will work. I have no idea what the problem is. Can somebody help?

Image
Could it perhaps have something to do with the fact that I forgot about it and left it outside for almost a full year?

Image
The parts are suppose to be easily detachable right?

Have you tried tweaking the pots? Also, look for bulging or leaking capacitors. Have you tried your games on a friend's PS2? It could be your game discs.

Have you tried cleaning the lens and blowing the dust out of the system?

Unplug it, wait for five minutes, plug it back in.

If that doesn't work, check your modem.

Actually, what happened is that It was broken for real because the laser that reads disks got moved out of place or something similar. I replaced it with a newer PS2 and me and a friend then took turns doing everything we could think of to destroy my old one. We were quite successful. And before you ask "why?" I'll just tell you: I did it for the lulz.
