PCE/TG-16 in style now?

Post by gennss »

It seems it is, the systems that are usually available at japangamestock aren't there, and ebay pricing for systems seems to have gone up. Any news?

a big chunk of this forum collectively fell in love with Shmups this year. Maybe that has something to do with it?

I have no idea why the sudden change other than folks are finally realizing what I already knew; That Turbo is the BEST!

You still got Mad-Gear:

I noticed this about a year ago.
Jaguar CD has increased in price as well.

At the same time, some other systems have tanked in value.

It's all in a cycle i suppose. Maybe it's related to Virtual Console.

Just wondering what TG-16/PC Engine systems are you referring to that are not available at japangamestock? The ones that I always see there are still available.

Probably a collective realization that there was a system besides genesis and SNES in that gen, and it had a bunch of cool exclusives. Plus, the PC-E looks awesome.

Well, personally, I just got a Turbografx-16 a month ago, but that was more due to finding it at a junk shop for $15 rather than any outward circumstances. It does seem to be in style currently though.
Current systems: Atari 2600[x2], NES(top loader), SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Saturn, Dreamcast, Playstation, PS2, PS2 slim, xbox, xbox 360, Turbografx-16, Game Boy Pocket, Game boy SP[x2], Nintendo DS[x2], Nintendo DSi, Nintendo 3DS, Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket Color, Wonderswan Color, Neo Geo MVS.

I have disliked my TG16 for years. It was fiddly, the games I could find locally were soso, and the video was poor (yes I realize it two of those are hardware issues that can be fixed - I didnt realize that fifteen years ago). But when I got a Core Grafix last year my opinion changed completely. I love my Core Grafix and the couple dozen games I have for it. I wish they had released a PCE sized console over here instead of the monster.
