Anybody Else Into Video Podcasts?

Post by racketboy »

I watch most of my video content on my Media Center PC (HTPC).
What cool about the whole video iPod/Apple TV movement is that we are seeing more quality video podcast content showing up that fills in the games of my other video content and can have it downloaded directly onto my Media Center.

Here's what I currently watch on a regular basis:
Geekbrief TV
inDigital
DL.tv
The Merlin Show
X-Play
CommandN

I'd also have Diggnation, but I still like to be able to listen to the audio podcast during my drives and walks, so I don't do the video.

Does anybody have any other video podcasts that they enjoy?

I've never actually watched podcasts... that geekbrief is pretty cool, but eh, to much work for me to be downloading, sorting and watching podcasts.

It's enough work sorting the THREE tv shows I record with Vista's Media Center...

But see I have a nice setup that does it all for me.

On my main PC, I have Juice running to automatically take the RSS feed, download new episodes multiple times a day and automatically put them in a designated folder on my Media Center PC.

Then when I browse on my Media Center PC, I just find the folder for the show and there are all the latest episodes. Once I watch an episode, I delete it with my remote. It's super easy.

If I find a new show, all I have to do it give Juice the RSS feed and it automatically sets up a new folder for the show on my Media Center PC's Video Podcasts folder and goes to work.

Now Juice sounds like something I could use then... I may start to DL those shows you spoke of in your first post. Not too in the know of good shows, but I guess these are a good start.

Yeah, I use iTunes for my audio podcast, but I REALLY wish that their directory would categorize them as audio or video now that the video is more common (and they are selling Apple TVs) so I could search for video ones easier.

I did the audio podcast thing for awhile, mostly boardgame related though. I use to be on a radio show about gaming before podcasting came around, so now hearing those annoy me alittle bit. I might get back into them though since my trip from work has become extended due to roadwork.

Ive seen enough lowbudget tv and indy films to know to stay away from video podcast. Its probably just me though.

I'm not so much into the video podcasts as I can't listen to them on the way to class. My audio attention is much more easily gained than my eyeballs.

Racketboy, you know you can listen to your video podcasts on your iPod without watching the video? I do that with diggnation sometimes. Like, I'll listen to the video in the car, then when I get out, I plug my iPod into the tv w/ my video cable and continue it, but watching the video. It's pretty cool.

I like Diggnation, Geekscape, InDigital, and sometimes I'll catch DL.tv.

Why do you watch CommandN? I thought you were a windows guy.

XPlay is the only one on my list that is gaming.
And it is reviews of new games,
