Help with SNES Roms

Post by NintenBroke »

I have an R4i for my DS and have lots of NES and SNES roms that work great. However, I can't get Super Mario Kart or Super Mario World 2 Yoshi's Island to work at all. I have downloaded these roms from different sites but they never work. Can someone please help me get those 2 roms that actually work. Thanks in advance.

Unless the R4i has built-in emulators, you'd need to download the SNES emu for DS. IIRC, Snemul doesn't support FX chip nor DSP so even if you downloaded it, you can't play them.

(GEN, SS x3, DC x3)*(PCE-Duo)*(Xbox:500GB)*(NGCDZ, NGPC)*(PS1, PStwo, PS3:160GB, PSP.3K)

Yes I have the SNemul for it and the other roms work. So you are saying that those two roms will not work because it doesn't support FX chip or DSP, right? Thanks for the info, I didn't know that. Well, now I know anyway. Thanks again.

Nobody can help you with that. The chips inside those games, as mentioned, are not supported by any SNES emulator on the DS. SNES emulation on it isn't really that good, to be honest. There are quite a lot of games that have major issues. If you want to play portable SNES games properly, get a PSP.

This DS card apparently can play SMK but I dunno about Yoshi. Then again, you'd have to buy another card just for the games that use special chips and who know how good the emulation is anyways.

On a separate note, I've been trying to run this emulator and can't even get it to recognise the roms. Is there a folder that they need to be in or something? The site I downloaded it from didn't seem to have any faq section.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.
