Limited/Special/Bundle Console information

Post by masteroftheclaw »

So, recently I've gotten into collecting console variants. Not like consoles with different AV ports or anything but things like special bundles, various colors, and models. For example, I am interested in things like a model 3 Genesis, RE5 Xbox 360 bundle, and silver Gamecube.

I've been looking around online for sites that would have all the various kinds of specific consoles listed, but so far have come up with nothing good. AtariAge has a great section showcasing all the Atari 2600s... but where are the sites for all the various GameCube colors and bundles for different regions? What about the PS2? Is there at least a site on line filled with Dreamcast console variation info (since there are so many special editions)?

Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places but I can't find any sites that give me the information that I want. As such, I've figured I'm going to make my own site that covers the more popular game consoles that have special editions and/or colors. The thing is I need to find these editions to begin with... Google and eBay are of help but I'm sure I could also use the input of actual collectors of the consoles I'd feature since they'd certainly have a better knowledge than I.

I'm really not sure if what I'm saying makes sense. It makes perfect sense in my head but being put to text something might have gotten lost. Either way, if you have resourceful websites you could link me to or encyclopedic knowledge of specific game consoles let me know! I'd love to have your help.

Thankyou! Bookmarked.

For Dreamcast if U.S. only, I think you only have to worry about adding the Sega Sports Black Edition.

Now if you go after the different Japanese console colors, have a second mortgage lined up. :D
