games you're glad you bought used instead of full retail

Post by alexis524 »

So, what are some of the games that you're glad you bought used instead of paying full retail price for? Mine is God of War 3. Boy was i all over the reviews and screenshots and just felt like i was missing out on a great game. So i picked it up last Wednesday afternoon and after about 8 hours with it, i'm just about at the end. Boy am i glad that i didn't spring $60 for it. It's been a good 8 hour ride, looks pretty, scale is massive, but not much different than the two previous outings. I paid less than half of what this game was released at and very glad i waited. How about you guys?

Pretty much every mainstream game except Halo Reach. Which i wish i'd bought used.

Red dead redemption was more or less GTA not to mention gimmiky
COD MW2 was fun for a few days but was pretty much just COD4
Gears of war 2 was awesome, but very boring to play through again
Halo Reach, is a great game but so short i've got all except one achievment and had it a week!

Mmm... prehaps i should learn from this

[quote="noiseredux"]mine would be pretty much every game I've bought in the last 3 years.A better thread would be: which games did you wish you had bought new aside from damaged goods?
Mine:
Battle Gear 3
Battle Gear 2

I have plenty of used titles, but I can't say I've ever been "happy" to buy something used over buying it new. You take out the desire to save cash, and there's pretty no reason to want to get something used over something new. Sounds more like your topic should be games you bought and were dissapointed with or what games do you think are overrated

I'm not going to lie but I have not purchased a game at full retail in recent memory. In at least the last couple of years. I have purchased some games new, but got deals or used coupons to pay much less than retail price.

All used, its a better price for the same game. If a disc based game push to be complete with original case and manual. Used game carts a given, just the cart with no manual.
