I liked the review.
Tony Hawk's games used to be awesome back in the day. I should pick up the first one... The only skating series I can think of that beats it is the Jet Grind series.
Edit: Do you have a particular version you'd recommend? I'm thinking of getting it on the Dreamcast.

I remember playing the demo of THPS for hours and hours. The Primus song - Jerry Was a Race car Driver will be forever burned into my memory. I was a skateboarder at the time so it was more than just a game at that time... it was a dream come true.

The Dreamcast version looks great and plays pretty well from the minimal amount of time I have played it, the N64 version with a expansion pack makes it quite a bit better looking that the PS1 version, however if you want to play with a analog stick, its pretty shit, but it plays well with the D-Pad, the PS1 (and original version) while being the ugliest (It looks quite a lot better with via ps2 filtering) of the bunch is the original version and the one I played to death.Opa Opa wrote:I liked the review.Tony Hawk's games used to be awesome back in the day. Overall though I would pick up the Dreamcast version, graphics are a massive step up.
shwisha, I also played the demo to death.

@emwearz
Thanks. Looks like I'll get the DC version whenever I can.

You could also play THPS2X which is the Xbox version of 1, when you finish it you unlock THPS, its not exactly the same as THPS (As its using the THPS2X engine) but its another option.Opa Opa wrote:@emwearz

Awesome review, like always! I spent hours of my life playing THPS when I was a kid.
