Have you fine chaps read my review of the legendary GBC original? If not, its on the reviews board.
I'd be all over this...except I don't yet own a DSi. With the soon to be released (in Japan) 3DS, I feel really torn. Shantae is excellent, but I'm not sure it's worth buying a whole new system for one game.
And even worse, DSi's are region locked, aren't they? So even if I were to hold off and buy a Japanese 3DS instead, I wouldn't be able to download this game?

Hmm what to do what to do..
Yes, DSiWare is region-specific and even handheld-specific. As others wrote, I'm also hesitant to buy more DSiWare so close to the 3DS's release. I'd love to hear on the 29th about plans to link purchases to a Nintendo.com account that could migrate from one handheld to another, still enforcing "DRM" but giving the user (heaven forbid we consider ourselves the "owner") of the software flexibility.
I think I'll hold off until the 3DS is released in the states in March. I mean, it's a download, it's not going to just go away. It'll still be there.
However, this was the one reason I would buy a DSi in the first place. However, a $10 or less game that you don't truly own really wasn't worth the extra $170 to me.
