I think it is a bit unreasonable for developers to charge more for a PC version of a game they sell on iPhone for 1/3 of the price or less.
I know games on iPhone tend to sell very cheap and if they don't price it that way then it won't sell (I guess), but if it is the same game it is a bit disrespectful to the PC customers to charge them 3 times more.
It is hard to justify charging that premium with just a few extras, as well.
This is just something that irks me - I guess I know *why* they do it (presumably because they can get away with it - i.e. they don't lose all their PC customers despite this).
Ivo.

true. imo they are better off porting part of it, and selling the rest of the game as DLC.

Eew no, that's a worse situation.

I said they are better off. The iphone ain't a viable platform for professionals. If only 1 in 10 games make it on consoles and PCs then on the iphone it's like 1 in 100

If they added a couple buttons and a d-pad they could change the same amount.
Re: Some games much cheaper on iPhone...
Peggle on PC is 19.95
Peggle on XBLA and PS3 is 10 dollars
Peggle on the iPhone is 2.99
Peggle on DS is 19.95
There is also a Peggle mod for World of Warcraft but I don't know if it costs money.
What the fuck?

QFT! Games are nowhere near as fun when all you can do is shake your phone and swipe your fingers across a glass screen. I'd play a PC/Console version over a iPhone game any day of the week thanks!Jrecee wrote:If they added a couple buttons and a d-pad they could change the same amount.
Re: Some games much cheaper on iPhone...
Maybe you should go and actually play an iPhone/iPod Touch before spouting complete bullshit. Games like Plants VS Zombies or Bejeweled are actually superior on iPhone. A touch screen is a far superior input method for games like that.ujnhunter wrote:QFT! THIS. Maybe not for a Platformer or FPS, but certain games are beautiful in the touch screen environment. I loaded tons of games on wife's Impression thru TKExplorer and all she plays is Bejeweled Twist.Niode wrote:Maybe you should go and actually play an iPhone/iPod Touch before spouting complete bullshit.
