need DS lite help

Post by alexis524 »

i replaced the outer casing on my ds lite that was working just fine, now that i've got it all back together, the green lite comes on for bout two seconds, screens flash then it powers off. I did google, but the results came back anywhere from blown resistor, to new mobo, and not sure what to do. Can any one help me????

no, i grounded myself constantly thru-out, thought it was just a dead battery, but read that the unit can be played while it's charging, so it has to be either screen or cicuitry related (i guess)

I did this same thing to a lite a couple years ago. Changed the case following every 'rule' the I could find on the internet (eliminate static, moisture, etc., etc.) When I was finished, the entire unit was seemingly dead. No boot-up, no screen, no lights, nothing.

I have what my friends refer to as SPS, or 'sweaty palm syndrome', so I immediately figured I shorted the thing with my swamphand and freaked out and took the whole case apart again. A couple hours later, I decided 'what the fuck?' and reassembled the DS. This time, doing triple-checks on every little connection, wire, and ribbon.

When I finally got it all back together, it worked like a charm. I have no idea what went wrong or how I fixed it, but I'd honestly recommend just simply trying to assemble it over again. Good luck.

http://www.deveno.com/housing/Guide/housing.htm

can anyone who regularly replaces cases tell me if this is a fairly reliable guide or is there something more detailed out there someone can point me towards? Thanks for your input so far.

P.S. hellhammer, i just shat my pants, i reassembled everything and this puppy fired right up!!! whew am i relieved! thanks for your help! if we were at a bar i'd buy you a round. Thanks again!
